ECB appoints national academy director
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that Guy Jackson has been appointed as National Academy manager, succeeding Nigel Laughton, who has taken up a post as operations director of Bath RFC.
Jackson joins the ECB from Loughborough University, where he was director of sports development and marketing and had a role in the development of the national cricket centre on the campus. He also worked as the university's director of cricket.
Jackson will report to national academy director, Peter Moores, to ensure efficient and effective management of the national academy programmes.
John Carr, director of England cricket, said: "We are delighted to have recruited Guy for this important role. He is exceptionally well qualified for the job, having played a major part in the creation of the academy at Loughborough, as well as having managed the Loughborough MCC University Centre of Cricketing Excellence programme and the British Universities representative side."
