The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced which venues will host major international cricket fixtures for 2013-2016, a period that includes two Ashes series.

Lord's and the Kia Oval, which are both in London, will host an Ashes Test match between England and Australia in both 2013 and 2015, as well as Nottingham's Trent Bridge.

The Emirates Durham ICG, Chester-le-Street, was already confimed as a 2013 Ashes venue, and has now been joined by Manchester's Old Trafford for the five-match series.

Meanwhile, the other two venues to join Lord's and the Kia Oval as 2015 Ashes hosts have been confirmed as Cardiff's SWALEC Stadium; and Edgbaston, Birmingham.

The ECB allocated major international matches to venues based on recommendations made by Lord Morris of Handsworth, chair of the independent Major Match Group.

Lord Morris said: "This has been an exhaustive process which is of critical importance to the long term plans and sustainability for each of the venues."
