East Anglian hotel firm enters administration
Elizabeth Hotels, the Ipswich-based operator of pub and hotels across the East Anglian region, has been placed into administration.
On 8 December, Allan Graham and Jane Moriarty of KPMG were appointed as joint administrators of the Elizabeth Estates, Elizabeth Hotels and Cavendish Hotels businesses, which includes 14 mid-range hotels and 13 pubs. Graham said: "The company's financial liabilities made it impossible to continue running the businesses as they stood. We will continue to trade the business in the short term while a buyer is sought for the hotels and pubs, individually or as a group."
A further four hotels operated by the companies will continue trade as normal outside of the administration.
