Marriott International has signed with Phat Dat Quang Ngai Hotel & Resort Corp. to operate the 250-room Hoi An Marriott Resort & Spa in Vietnam.

The property, scheduled to open in 2015, will be the country's ninth Marriott International site and its second Marriott resort. Facilities will include four food outlets, three swimming pools, a spa, outdoor tennis courts and 1,100sq m (11,840sq ft) of function space.

The Hoi An Marriott is one of several properties planned by the company for Vietnam, with new openings scheduled for 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Elsewhere, Marriott has signed a management agreement with Sanding Holding Group for the 281-room Yiwu Marriott in eastern China, set to open in 2014.

Dining options will comprise a three-meal, permanent buffet restaurant; a Chinese food outlet; and a specialty restaurant. Facilities are to include an indoor swimming pool, a health club and 1,410sq m (15,177sq ft) of meeting space.

The signing is part of of Marriott's plan to concentrate on overseas markets such as China in the future, where it plans on having 60 hotels by the end of the year and double that by 2016.
