Ebbsfleet United forced out of training ground
A training ground used by Ebbsfleet United Football Club (EUFC) has been closed for an "unspecified period" as a result of ongoing construction work taking place at the site.
The Blue Square Premier club has now been left without a permanent place to train as a result of Gravesham Borough Council's decision to shut the AEI Sports Club in Gravesend, Kent, due to health and safety issues. EUFC has announced that it will look to train at its Stonebridge Road home and other local sports facilities for the duration of the closure, which it said had come "completely unexpected".
In a statement, the club said: "We were informed of ongoing building works on the site that are causing health and safety issues with the local council - as a result the council has closed the entire facility as of Monday [19 October]. "All options will need to be explored over the next couple of weeks and when a suitable permanent alternative is found, the club will notify fans."
