Ebbsfleet United nets stadium deal
Ebbsfleet United Football Club (EUFC) has announced that it has secured the future of its Stonebridge Road ground after the local authority acquired the site from owner Land Securities.
The venue, which had been due to go to public auction on 21 September, has now been purchased by Gravesham Borough Council (GBC), which will lease the ground to the football club for a nominal rent of £1 a year. EUFC also revealed that it will have the option of purchasing the stadium itself from the council if the club can raise the necessary amount of funding within an agreed period of time.
In a statement, the club said: "We believe this is a win-win situation, which gives us numerous options to take the club forward."
