Based on a two acre site, Reflex Nutrition has opened a new state of the art production facility in East Sussex.

The Reflex Science Park development near Brighton brings together the very latest in powder, capsule, pasteurising and quality testing technology. Features are a powder production facility incorporating pharmaceutical grade stainless steel production lines with inline metal detection, security sealing and traceability measures; and a capsule production facility similarly based on pharmaceutical grade equipment and which includes a blister pack line for the company's new range of sports-focused vitality products.

There is also an updated pasteurising plant for the production of RTD's, which Reflex Nutrition believes is the only one in Europe to be operated by a sports supplement brand. All of these units use electricity derived from 100 per cent renewable sources supplied by Ecotricity. The company's electricity is harnessed from natural sources, such as the wind, sun and water which neither pollute or contribute to climate change.

The buildings themselves incorporate sunpipes and rooflights throughout, providing natural light and reducing the need for electric lighting. When an area is not adequately lit but is occupied, low energy fluorescent and LED lighting is used to provide sunlight compensation. The buildings also use Solaboost, Solavent and Windcatcher technology to provide natural ventilation in place of conventional air conditioning systems.

Elsewhere on the site is a 10kW wind turbine with the facility to send excess power generated back to the national grid.
