Edinburgh Leisure targets kids' fitness
This month, Edinburgh Leisure is launching a new programme of junior fitness classes, both at its sports facilities and in schools across the Scottish capital.
From 1 September, the sports trust will host classes initially at Gracemount Leisure Centre, Ainslie Park Leisure Centre and Meadowbank Sports Centre.
Taster sessions will also take place at local schools and children taking part in Edinburgh Leisure's 'Open all Hours' programme will be given free passes to try a junior fitness class.
"This September we're launching our new NRJam and NRJab classes for young people in S1-S5 and we would encourage as many young people as possible to come down to our venues or take part in a taster session at school," said a spokesperson for Edinburgh Leisure.
NRJab features a mix of combat sports based moves, and NRJam is a party style dance class with a mix of pop, hip hop, funk and Latin.
