Edinburgh home for Creative Scotland
Creative Scotland, the new national cultural agency for Scotland, is set to be based in Edinburgh after the proposals were given the go-ahead by ministers.
A report outlining the agency's accommodation requirements is poised to go before the City of Edinburgh Council's (CEC) policy and strategy committee on 23 March. The proposed new home of Creative Scotland, which was put forward by the council, has not yet been identified but is believed to be close to transport links and set within a "purpose-built environment".
CEC leader Jenny Dawe said: "We firmly believe that as the pre-eminent arts and festival city, Edinburgh is the natural home of the newly established national cultural agency. "A fantastic location has been identified, which will provide state-of-the-art flexible accommodation which suits Creative Scotland's business model and allows for quick and easy access to both national and international transport links."
