Educational holidays at Butlins
Butlins resort in Skegness has teamed up with learndirect to offer holiday makers an educational centre, where they can gain certificates and improve their job prospects while on holiday.
The centre was opened last month by minister for skills and vocational education, Ivan Lewis, who said: “Thousands of people a week at Butlins will now have access to computers and support staff from local colleges. They will have free educational advice and will be able to have fun learning new skills on holiday.”
People using the centre will be able to achieve a national certificate in literacy and numeracy up to GCSE level. Butlins staff will also be able to use the service.
