Dior has launched a brand new wellness retreat at the iconic Hôtel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.

A part of The Oetker Collection, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc has been a legend in the French Riviera for more than 150 years and has long been a refuge for stars and key figures worldwide.

The hotel is set on nine hectares of lush grounds – rich with Aleppo pines, agapanthus, lavender, fragrant roses and jasmine – which formed a major part of the inspiration behind the vision for the new Dior Spa Eden-Roc.

Looking out into nature, the spa came to be after the two brands channelled their joint love of nature and flowers as well as their shared vision of discreet yet authentic luxury.

Dior and Eden-Roc have collaborated before after the fashion house selected the hotel as the setting for several of its advertising campaigns. Dior was so taken by the estate that it later honoured Eden-Roc with a perfume dedicated to its name.

In the shade of the Aleppo pines in the hotel gardens, the Dior Spa Eden-Roc opens onto a reception room in pale shades of sand, inspired by the white rocks from which the estate rises.

The understated décor also extends to the spa’s three individual treatment rooms and its double treatment room, set on a private patio featuring Mediterranean plants.

Each room is designed to be a sensory haven: beneath soft lights, treatment tables have been selected to transport guests to a waking dream and provide the feeling of floating on a cloud.

In an onyx affusion shower room, House wellbeing specialists provide hydrotherapy treatments using different jets.

The spa space also houses an ice fountain to stimulate and boost blood circulation after a session in the sauna or the hammam, which are set to the left and right of the cold therapy offering.

Lastly, a dedicated Iyashi Dôme treatment room offers infra-therapy rituals.

Inspired by traditional Japanese treatments, the dome diffuses gentle heat through the entire body using far-infrared light waves. Proposed benefits include stimulating detoxification, encouraging slimming, improving sleep, fighting skin ageing and preparing muscles for exercise as well as relaxation.

A retail boutique also houses the Collection Privée Christian Dior perfumes, including the Eden-Roc fragrance, as well as a selection of Dior’s skincare and beauty.

Connecting with nature

To ground guests in nature and connect them with the setting, Dior Spa Eden-Roc is conducting al fresco spa treatments in the hotel’s gardens.

On the grounds – facing the 100+-year-old rose garden dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II – a gazebo has been transformed into a discreet double treatment room, sheltered from the eyes of passers-by.

Additionally, a historical cabana redecorated in striped fabric and Toile de Jouy in shades of sage green and white has been transformed into a treatment cocoon for one.

On the threshold of this exclusive islet protected by the pines, a terrace with rattan furniture instantly encourages visitors to relax by admiring the sea view.

Brand-new signature treatments designed by Dior To mark the new opening, Dior has crafted The Dioriginels Rituals; four new customisable signature rituals for the Dior Spa Eden-Roc.

In a reflection of the landscape of Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the treatments are inspired by the four elements that give the place its unique character: the rocks, the sea, the garden and the sun.

The first of two two-hour treatments, the Escale à Eden-Roc Ritual (€550, US$606, £486) aims to rebalance and harmonise energy flow during a massage that uses semi-precious stones. Chosen according to the needs of each guest, they are used either hot or cold during the two-hour treatment.

Meanwhile, the Roc Affusion Ritual (€460, US$507, £406) reinterprets the full power of water through a 90-minute hydrotherapy treatment, with the help of a tailor-made sequence of water jets, beneficial for the muscles and drainage.

In addition, the 90-minute Enfleurage Corporel Ritual (€580, US$639, £513) is inspired by the hotel gardens and sees a shea butter bar infused with rose petals, jasmine or mallow applied to the entire body for a relaxing massage with exfoliating properties that differs in intensity depending on the chosen flower. After the two-hour treatment, the skin is perfectly soft and satiny and enveloped in a subtle floral fragrance.

To complete the offering, Dior has developed the exclusive 90-minute Riviera Solar Glow (€420, US$463, £371) treatment using its new Dior Solar range. Lasting 90 minutes, it is available either before sun exposure to benefit from its protective benefits, or afterwards, to repair the skin intensely.

Introducing Bouquets: Dior delves into retreats

For the first time, guests can now experience six Dior wellness retreats – an exclusive for the location.

Named Bouquets in a nod to the Dior Gardens and customised for each guest, each journey focuses on a distinct theme; Relaxation, Immunity, Detox, Reverse Aging, Hormonal Balance and Dior Homme (for men).

Available as three-, seven-, 10 or 14-day courses, the programmes combines manual treatments in both the spa experience space and the treatment rooms, as well as sessions using technology including the Dior Skin Light LED Mask and the Dior Micro-Abrasion tool, Waves 21 and Endospheres Therapy technologies.

With the shared aim to look after both body and mind, each Bouquet also offers sports sessions and consultations with nutrition and wellbeing experts.

A selection of classic Dior massages, facials and body treatments are also available, as well as iridology, reflexology, yoga, naturopathy, osteopathy, a Dior x Hydrafacial ritual and make-up services.

More about Dior and the world of spaAlthough originally a fashion house, the LVMH-owned Dior brand has expanded into the world of spa and beauty in recent years and now encompasses four branded spas, a skincare line, a makeup collection and a perfume range.

As well as the Dior Spa Eden-Roc, Dior spas can be found in Morocco and Paris – including the premium La Samaritaine hotel (check out Spa Business’ first-person review here) and The Dior Spa, Hôtel Plaza Athénée. Dior also has a branded treatment space at luxury London department store Harrods and has recently launched its own Dior Spa carriage aboard Belmond's Royal Scotsman train.
