Enjoy England campaign to capitalise on city break growth
The national tourism agency, VisitBritain, has recently unveiled new research suggesting that Britain’s are embracing the buzz around city break destinations.
The figures show that eight out of the top 10 most visited destinations in England are in fact cities.
In 2006 the number of overnight visits made to the eight cities topped 22.8 million, demonstrating that vibrant city breaks on our own doorstep are of huge domestic appeal.
To capitalise on and further encourage this popularity, the Enjoy England team at VisitBritain has launched a new campaign to further promote the wealth of city break destinations.
The new City Breaks website campaign offers Britons a number of reasons to visit thirty six cities the length and breadth of England. The cities of London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool and York are the most visited of our English cities and all feature on the City Breaks website.
The campaign aims to encourage visitors to get more from the places on their doorstep, helping to uncover those hidden gems within city destinations and also to provide a wealth of information and advice on how to get the most from a visit.
The information on the website has been broken down into nine categories and includes topics such as Arts, Culture and Food. For further information on this campaign please visit the city breaks website which can be found at: www.enjoyengland.com/citybreaks
