Entertainments venue planned for Scunthorpe
A new entertainments venue is being planned for Scunthorpe.
The location for the proposed site currently features a disused entertainment site called The Baths Hall, and the majority of these buildings will be demolished to make way for the new venue.
A 400sq m (4,305sq ft) part of The Baths Hall that was built in 1931 will be retained, but 6,500sq m (70,000sq ft) will be new build.
Mark Kirk, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “I want to see the Baths Hall rejuvenated into an iconic modern day entertainment venue, which will be able to compete with similar attractions in the region.”
While plans have not been finalised, the complex will likely include facilities for live music, theatre, conferencing, catering and general community use.
The council said it was looking into the opportunity with partnering with other agencies for the investment, design, construction and operating of the venue.
