Entries open for Liveable Communities prize
Entries are now open for the 2012 International Awards for Liveable Communities (LivCom Awards).
Now in their 16th year, the awards recognise sustainable development, quality of life and environmental best practice and are open for communities around the world.
Endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme, the awards are divided into three categories - whole city awards; sustainability project awards; and bursary awards.
The project awards are open to both public and private sectors and partnerships with the objective of encouraging developers to having the same environmental objectives as communities.
The bursary award is open, free of charge, to communities participating in the whole city awards. The award will be made for a neighbourhood project, with a maximum Capital cost of £20,000, which demonstrates the objectives of the LivCom Awards.
The winners will be announced at a special ceremony in Al Ain City in the United Arab Emirates during a week-long LivCom event between 22 and 26 November 2012.
