Minority tastes have been taken into account in a sandwich re-launch by Esquires Coffee Houses. Britain's only franchise-driven chain of branded speciality coffee shops is on course to have 15 outlets by December.

The options now offered by Esquires are: vegetarian; no butter; below 350 calories; and vegetarian with no butter, as well as a gluten-free dessert. Also available is the choice of decaffeinated espresso coffee and skimmed milk.

Alex Berardi, marketing manager for Esquires said: 'We estimate that a majority of our customers will choose at least one minority item. This nutrition-sensitive market is set to grow rapidly.'
