Eureka! The Museum for Children in Halifax, UK, in partnership with the Yorkshire Museums Council, has received a grant from Yorkshire Forward to become established as a Centre of Excellence.

The three-year £3.8m funding has been allocated to enhance the regional focus, specifically on the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and to build the capacity of museums, libraries and other learning organisations to deliver such content.

As a result, Eureka! is planning new facilities including an interactive gallery, provisionally called Creative Minds, and will incorporate the STEM themes into its existing hands-on exhibition areas. This project will run alongside Eureka!'s six-year redevelopment plan.
