European expansion continues at Marriott
Continuing the company's drive to double its European hotel portfolio by 2015, Marriott International has signed agreements on the Courtyard Wiesbaden Nordenstadt, Germany; the Courtyard Montpellier, France; and the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel in Poland.
A rebrand of the former Ramada Hotel Wiesbaden, the 139-room Courtyard Wiesbaden will open in June this year under a franchise agreement with Realotel Wiesbaden Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft, following a revamp. The 124-room Courtyard Montpellier is scheduled to open in December this year, under a franchise agreement with Matea Sarl. Both it and the Courtyard Wiesbaden will feature an Oleo Pazzo Mediterranean restaurant and a 24-hour market.
Opening in 2013 under a franchise agreement with Port-Hotel, the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel will be Marriott's third hotel in the city and offer 225-rooms, around 10,000sq ft (929sq m) of meeting space, an indoor pool and a health and fitness centre. Further east, Marriott has opened its fourth hotel in Russia, the 150-room Courtyard Kazan.
Operated under a management agreement with Transstroibank, facilities include the SKY BAR Cafe, the SKY BAR Terrace, the Zilant Mediterranean Grill and a 24-hour market. The hotel will be joined by Marriott's second Courtyard-branded property in Moscow later this year.
