Event marks Theatr Colwyn relaunch
A special event has taken place to celebrate the reopening of Colwyn Bay's new-look Theatr Colwyn, following the completion of a £738,000 front-of-house refurbishment project.
The property, which is one of the oldest operating civic theatres in Wales, received £500,000 from the Welsh Assembly Government towards the restoration programme.
Theatr Colwyn's upstairs bar has now been relocated to the foyer, while a new box office has been created along with office space. Disabled access has also been improved.
Conwy Council also contributed £238,000 towards the scheme under its Bay Life+ initiative, while the exterior of the historic property underwent a £60,000 upgrade.
An official reopening ceremony is scheduled to take place on 15 October, with Monty Python actor and patron of Theatr Colwyn Terry Jones to attend alongside comedian Phill Jupitus.
