Everyone Active, has collaborated with wellbeing consultant, Oli Patrick, to launch a new membership category, You+.

Aimed at the 85 per cent currently not using gyms, the You+ membership is a wellness offering designed to make an impact on people’s overall lives, it supports them around six pillars: movement, nutrition, sleep, recovery, social wellbeing and brain health.

All members will receive a consultation where their ‘Everyone Active Age’ is calculated in terms of their lifestyle habits, they are then given a bespoke 12-week programme to follow.

Duncan Jefford, Everyone Active’s regional director, says: “This project was launched in response to all the misinformation that is currently being shared in the wellbeing space. We wanted to provide our members with information driven by scientific research and expert advice from a leading physiologist.

“The You+ membership gives our members the guidance to fully understand how simple changes result in life changing effects.

“The increased demand for day-to-day wellness support, was highlighted by a positive uptake of our Wellness membership that launched in late 2023, receiving more than 25,000 sign-ups and 25 per cent of new fitness sales on this membership.

“Therefore, we’ve taken an even bigger step towards 360-degree wellness support, and we feel that You+ can deliver to those that have been neglected by the traditional fitness industry.”

The programme has taken 12 months and extensive research to design and staff have been upskilled so every one of Everyone Active’s 240 facilities in the UK will be able to offer the membership from 30 December.

The cost of You+ will vary, starting at £24.99, or as a £10 bolt-on to a standard membership.

Patrick, spoke to HCM earlier this year about how fitness professionals need to become wellness professionals and take ownership of this space: “You+ seeks to become a beacon to members in the choices they make across the six key domains of lifestyle: movement, nutrition, sleep, recovery, brain health and social wellness.

“Most of these areas have never been formally coached and individuals have been left to work out the key lifestyle choices, with no support, no guidance, no direction. You+ brings a new vehicle to discuss wellbeing with customers in a format driven by kindness and empathy, but underpinned by robust clinical science.”

You+ is being featured in the January issue of HCM. Sign up for a free digital issue.

Everyone Active has also partnered with The Well HQ to launch the bespoke Everyone Active Women and Exercise Course. This training course addresses the key life stages females travel through and how this impacts their relationship with sport and exercise.

Steph Heath, national fitness products and training manager at Everyone Active, says: “We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for everyone and we understand the importance of enhancing opportunities for women. This course will enable our colleagues to provide industry-leading support and practical methods to ensure women continue to feel supported in our facilities."

Baz Moffat, CEO at The Well HQ, said: “Too many women still see the gym as someone else's space. This robs them of a chance to establish and maintain good habits, and to care for their bodies and minds. We hope our partnership with Everyone Active helps break down those walls and inspires more women to get active, with the reassurance of a trained instructor ready and equipped with the right knowledge to support them at all levels and life stages.”
