Ex-Wembley boss faces jail term
Nigel Potter, the former chief executive of UK-based gaming company Wembley, has been found guilty of conspiracy and wire fraud in the United States.
The charges relate to allegations that Potter and Lincoln Park, Wembley's US subsidiary, attempted to bribe the former speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, John Harwood, to block plans for a rival casino and to allow Lincoln Park to install more slot machines.
Sentencing has been set for 28 October and could see Potter spending up to 20 years in jail.
Wembley has set £1.7m aside for possible fines resulting from the court ruling.
