Expansion for healthy living centres
Expansion is on the cards for Healthy Living Centres (formerly the Reflex Group), following a restructure and a new financing package.
The company, which operates the Motorcise chain of Healthy Living Centres, says a new opening programme of fitness centres can now go ahead thanks to a restructuring exercise, which has created ‘firm foundations for development’.
The group has 33 sites and has also developed a franchise package to further growth. There are currently five franchises in operation, with three more signed up and further agreements planned.
Preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2004 shows an improvement in trading with a turnover of £3,079,666, which is £134,000 more than 2003. The company reported a loss of 0.49 a share compared to 0.64 the previous year.
Chair, Luke Johnson, who replaced Tony Kilduff in November 2004, said: “The business is better positioned to make progress than it has been for some time and providing consumer spending is sustained, we are cautiously optimistic for the remainder of the year.”
