FA confirms David Bernstein appointment
David Bernstein has been confirmed as the new chair of the Football Association (FA) after his nomination was endorsed by the organisation's council.
The former Manchester City Football Club chair will succeed Roger Burden, who took over the role in an acting capacity following the departure of Lord Triesman in May 2010. Bernstein told the FA council: "I have met many people representing all areas of football in this country to hear their thoughts and ideas on the current issues facing the game.
"By bringing stability to the top of our organisation, I hope to create an environment within which all the positive work that we do is better understood and appreciated."
