Facilities are hotting up at Saddleworth Pool
The wet facilities at Saddleworth Pool and Leisure Centre, which is run by Oldham Community Leisure (OCL), have undergone a £100,000 revamp – turning an old store room into a sauna and steamroom.
"The cedar-clad cabin sauna has been fitted with amber LED mood lighting, and the steamroom has Italian tiles, colour-changing lights and is scented with relaxing fragrances – it's the perfect environment to unwind at the end of a busy day," says Peter Howson, Head of Customer Relations at OCL. "It may be the old storeroom space, but it fits in so well it's like it has always been there!"
The new facilities are free for existing members and can also be used by local residents on a pay-as-you-go basis.
OCL, which recently won the management contract to run Oldham's leisure services for a further 10 years, runs 14 sports centres, plus swimming pools and synthetic pitches throughout Oldham.
