Located on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, along the coastal region of Dibba and with panoramic views of the Gulf of Oman, the luxury 180-room Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort and spa is now open.

The fifth Fairmont-branded project in the United Arab Emirates, Fairmont Fujairah offers the only other Willow Stream Spa in the UAE.

Opening in April, the 1,105sq m (11,894sq ft) Willow Stream spa features four single treatment rooms and two VIP suites, one with a spa bath. In line with the Willow Stream brand concept, it is inspired by nature’s elements of earth, air, fire, water and wood.

The rustic interior features driftwood beams, Arabesque lanterns and wall alcoves. Offering plenty of places in which to relax, facilities include separate male and female wet and dry facilities including a traditional hammam, rock sauna, steam rooms, experience showers, heated loungers, a retail space and a nail and hair beauty bar.

Also on site is a mosaic-tiled swimming pool, fitness and dive centre, while a range of outdoor activities are available including yoga, guided mountain bike tours, jogging trails, hikes on Hajar mountain, rock safaris and kayaking.

“The treatment menu aims to provide authentic, results-driven experiences with luxury and environmental sustainability in mind. Local essence is also another key focus, to provide an experience reflecting its destination,” said Ayuko Suzuki, director of Spa and Recreation.

Product partners are Hammamii and Elemental Herbology, both of whom utilise indigenous plants and herbs; the spa is the first Willow Stream Spa to collaborate with Elemental Herbology.

Signature treatments by Hammamii include the Timeless Inspired Signature Ritual which is inspired by ancient bedouin rituals of the UAE. Caffeine concentrate and sumac, help to smooth skin while a date body mask, using dates from the Ras Al Khaimah region, helps repair and hydrate.

Other treatments on offer include Awakening Solar Body Exfoliation, a ritual which includes salts drawn from the Arabian Sea on solar panels in Abu Dhabi, and four exclusive hammam experiences.

Elemental Herbology treatments include the Five Element Aroma Facial, a tailored facial including botanicals, vitamins and marine extracts to harmonise the Five Elements and address the key underlying concerns of the skin; and the Ho-Leaf and Rosemary Muscle Melt, which combines ho leaf, lemongrass, nutmeg and rosemary with deep tissue massage therapy and hot stones to address muscle tension and circulation.
