Fairmont set to open hotel in China
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is set to launch a new hotel in Changsha, Hunan Province, China in 2016.
Fairmont Changsha, a partnership between Fairmont and Hunan Taskin Investment, will feature 350 guestrooms and suites.
The resort will house the Fairmont's signature Willow Spa, a health and fitness club and swimming pool. Exact details of the spa are to be confirmed.
In addition to the hotel, Fairmont will manage an adjacent new 40,000sq m (430,556sq ft) conference centre at Taskin City in Sheng Fu New Town - the financial district of Changsha.
Taskin City is a master planned development designed by RTKL architects, slated to become one of the largest developments in Central China. It will feature 14 Grade-A office towers, international shopping centres, luxury retail and leisure facilities such as ice-skating rink, arts centre and theatre.
Jennifer Fox, president of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said: “The city’s energetic growth is fuelled by entertainment, finance, culture, construction and manufacturing and other industries, ensuring Changsha’s position as one of the most dynamic economic engine in central China.”
The Changsha hotel will be Fairmont’s ninth in the Asia-Pacific region.
