Family friendly museum award shortlist announced
The shortlist for this year's Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award has been revealed.
The six museums on the list are the Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, York; Great North Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne; Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry; Highland Folk Museum, Newtownmore; The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent; and St Nicholas Priory, Exeter.
The shortlist for the award, which is supported by the Kids In Museums charity, was decided by a panel led by the chair of Heritage Lottery Fund, Jenny Abramsky.
Each shortlisted museum will now be visited and assessed by several families, who will measure the museum against the Kids in Museums Manifesto.
The winner, based on the families' feedback, will be announced in April.
