Fayed denies Fulham ground sale
Mohamed Al Fayed has denied reports that Fulham Football Club has sold Craven Cottage.
The Fulham chairman denounced press reports that claimed the club had agreed to sell its ground to finance and development company, Fulham River Projects.
'I want to make it perfectly clear that Fulham Football Club has not, I repeat, not sold Craven Cottage. The ground still belongs to us and will remain so,' said Al Fayed.
Al Fayed said he was exploring a number of options for the redevelopment of the ground and that £15m had been raised to push the stadium project forward, but did not rule out the possibility of a sale in the future.
'As part of the package of sensible precautionary measures we have put in place we have set up a structure which would make it possible for us to sell Crave Cottage if as a last resort we are forced to do so.'
