Ferrari plans sports car theme parks
Ferrari's chair, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, has told the Financial Times that he wanted Ferrari to float on the stock market to fund an expansion into entertainment, including the development of Ferrari theme parks:
'At the moment there is no decision, but if I could make a suggestion to my main shareholders, I would say they should think about a flotation,' he said.
A flotation would please Ferrari enthusiasts, many of whom would relish the opportunity of owning a chunk of a company whose product few of them can afford.
The company is opening its first Ferrari shop later this week. Based at its headquarters in Maranello, Italy, the store will sell Ferrari-branded products.
