Fire damages historic Cheshire castle hotel
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) has confirmed that around 100 firefighters were called to deal with a fire at the historic Peckforton Castle Hotel near Tarporley on 19 June.
More than 20 fire appliances attended the incident, which broke out in one of the wings of the property in the early hours of the morning. There were no reported injuries. Cheshire Constabulary confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, and appeared before South Cheshire Magistrates on 21 June.
Meanwhile, Peckforton Castle Hotel has announced that it intends to return to business as normal from 24 June, with all weddings to go ahead as planned.
