First Crowne Plaza hotel to open in Taiwan
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management contract with E United Group to run what will be the new Crowne Plaza Kaohsiung E-Da World hotel in Taiwan, China.
The 650-room hotel will be the first IHG managed Crowne Plaza hotel to open in Taiwan, and will be launched at the end of 2009 comprising five restaurants, two ballrooms and 10 function rooms. The hotel is located in E-Da World, one of the biggest development projects in Taiwan, which is set to include various hotels, retail units and a theme park.
IHG already has 117 hotels across China, including three Holiday Inn hotels in Taiwan, and has 100 new properties in the pipeline as part of the expansion of its China portfolio.
