The first UK ‘Hilton Fitness by Precor’ has opened at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Hilton Hotels Corporation and fitness equipment supplier Precor are launching the brand worldwide in an effort to enhance the “wellness experience of hotel guests”. Over the next few years, 2,000 facilities will be introduced in 70 countries.

The Park Lane site features Precor cardiovascular equipment -– including crosstrainers, treadmills and exercise bikes – and strength kit. The facility is primarily to be used by hotel guests, but it also has a membership base of just under 200, with most of these comprising local workers and residents.

Andrew Woodrow, club manager at the London Hilton on Park Lane, said: “The new Hilton Fitness by Precor facility is a welcome addition to the hotel. Guests and members have been extremely positive about the refurbishment. We have more cardiovascular stations than before, so users no longer have to queue up to use the equipment at peak times.”

Precor’s hospitality sector manager Tracy Collier said: “The opening of this club is a real milestone. As the first of the rebranded facilities to open in the UK, it was essential that we got it right. We are now concentrating on rolling out the brand and plan to have another three facilities launched in the UK by the end of the year.”
