First UK hotel for Sol Meliá
The Meliá White House celebrated its official relaunch this month following a £30m refurbishment programme.
The Regent's Park hotel is the first UK property from the Spanish hotel brand Sol Meliá, which has more than 350 hotels in 30 countries. Its four brands, Meliá Hotels, Tryp Hotels, Sol Hoels and Paradisus Resorts, are represented over four continents.
Overseen by Spanish architect Alvaro Sanz, the renovation includes 285 rooms, 66 deluxe rooms, 159 Royal Service rooms and 69 junior suites. Other facilites include Oveture, a fine dining restaurant, L'Albufera, a brasserie style restaurant, and a new piano lounge bar. The hotel will also feature seven meeting rooms and a fitness centre.
'The hotel aims to attract a ratio of around 60 per cent to 40 per cent business to leisure clients in the first year,' says Elmar Wirtenberger, Sol Meliá's regional director of sales and marketing for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. 'It will showcase the Meliá brand to the UK market.'
