Newmarket's first luxury destination spa, a £5.5m spa development by Review Hotels, will be unveiled in the Georgian estate on 3 July.

Located in a Victorian property adjacent to Bedford Lodge Hotel, The Spa at Bedford Lodge will feature 10 spacious treatment rooms.

Facilities at the spa will include a rooftop hot tub, a mezzanine hydrotherapy pool, experiential showers, a relaxation room and shoulder massage fountains.

A thermal area will be on offer consisting of a steamroom, sauna and hammam as well as a beauty parlour for manicures and pedicures.

The spa will house a therapy room for visiting cosmetic doctors offering non-invasive procedures.

Treatments include relaxing full body massages, Balinese massage with hot stones, detoxifying body cleanses and skin refining facials as well as luxury manicures and pedicures.

The spa will feature products from luxury spa company ESPA and beauty products from Jessica.

Signature treatments will include the use of Rasul, a traditional Arabian cleansing ritual using mud to exfoliate the skin and improve well-being, as well as experiential showers to awaken the senses with a combination of music, lights and water.

An ESPA Time package will be available to ensure that the most suitable treatment is selected and then personalised by therapists.

The spa will be under the managed by Anna Ramsay, who previously worked in a spa manager position and as International Trainer for Britain for ESPA.

The owners of the new spa have worked with Trevillion Interiors to create a stylish, but relaxed country house feel with soft, muted neutral interiors. The spa has retained many of the building's original features including the grand staircase and high ceilings.

Ramsay said: "The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel is going to bring something new and exciting to Newmarket and I am thrilled to be a part of it. We are working closely with ESPA to provide our guests with only the very best products and treatments so that our guests can enjoy a unique experience tailored to their needs."

The Bedford Lodge Hotel features 77 guestrooms and suites which have recently been upgraded as part of the hotel expansion programme.

Noel Byrne, chief executive of the Bedford Lodge Hotel says: "This is great news for both the hotel and Newmarket. We believe that The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel will really put Newmarket on the spa map giving a great boost to the region. We have been working on the plans for some time so it is good to see our vision coming to life at last."
