Fitness First to host International Fitness Week
Health club operator Fitness First is launching International Fitness Week as part of efforts to attract new members to its clubs.
Taking place between the 1 and 7 February, the marketing campaign will see more than 400 gyms across 15 countries opening their doors and offering free exercise classes.
Throughout the week themed days will be devoted to all areas of health and fitness from health to sport, shape and exercising with a buddy.
Monday will see all clubs offer a free "MOT", a five-point health check, aiming to give potential members a clear picture of how to improve their health and offer advice on possible exercise regimes.
Other themes running through the week include a career fit day, offering guests the opportunity to try out a fitness test designed for people applying for emergency services; a crash course in group exercise; and a world record attempt in group spinning.
The week-long campaign is fronted by former Spice Girl and reality TV star Melanie Brown.
"I want to encourage everyone to find what works for them and make being active part of their lifestyle," she said.
Fitness First is offering members of public the opportunity to download a free one-day guest membership to allow them to take part in the activities.
