Alister Rollins, managing director of Fitronics, walked away with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Telegraph Business Awards, which were held at the Moorhouse building, London, on 2 November.

Alister, 24, founded Fitronics in 2002, having won the University of Bath’s business plan competition.

Fitronics – which offers membership retention solutions for health and fitness clubs – has since attracted funding and capital investment from Sulis, a university challenge fund.

“Our success is down to our solution’s simplicity,” said Rollins.

“We provide health clubs with a cost effective, easy to implement answer to the health and fitness industry’s biggest problem: membership retention.

“We prompt the club’s staff to focus on where they add most value, while our system works in the background ensuring their efforts have maximum impact.”

Fitronics systems are currently operating at the Branston Golf and Country Club in Staffordshire and the Sports Training Village at the University of Bath. Details: www.fitronics.com
