Five new arts museums for Iran
Five new contemporary arts museums are to be established across Iran by the end of March 2009.
The project, which was reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency, was announced by Mahmoud Shalouie, director general of visual arts at the Iranian ministry for culture and Islamic guidance. Shalouie, who is also caretaker of the Museum of Contemporary Art in the capital Tehran, also said that other Iranian provinces should have access to such facilities.
The five new museums would be in addition to two sites which have already been built at Abadan and Ahvaz respectively.
