Five venues awarded Capital funding from Arts Council England

London's National Theatre and Royal Opera House are among five venues to be awarded a share of £43m through Arts Council England's (ACE) Capital investment programme.
It forms part of a wider £114.6m funding package, with 21 other organisations successful in the first stage of the application process and continuing to develop their bids.
The National Theatre received the largest award of £17.5m of towards NT Future - a project designed to open up the institution's South Bank building and increasing public access.
Chichester Festival Theatre has been awarded £12m towards its RENEW scheme, which will involve the refurbishment and extension of front-of-house and backstage areas among others.
The Royal Opera House has secured £10m towards a programme of improvements over the next four years, and High House Production Park in Essex has been handed £1m.
Meanwhile, the Southbank Centre has been awarded a £3.32m development grant towards its proposed refurbishment of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Hayward Gallery.
An ACE spokesperson said: "The organisations below will receive a total of £43,820,500 from the £114.6m allocated to round one of the programme."
