Footballer launches healthy eatery
Former England international and Liverpool FC footballer Jamie Carragher has opened his first restaurant on Merseyside.
Called Café Sports England, the 200-cover family restaurant is located on Liverpool’s Stanley Street and will offer guests a menu of healthy food.
The restaurant is spread over two-floors and has two fruit smoothie bars and an open kitchen where guests can watch whilst fresh pizza, pasta and char grilled food will be cooked to order.
The menu includes a selection of dishes marked “JC’s choice”, designed to promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging guests – especially children – to choose a healthy food by selecting a dish recommended by their sporting hero.
The interior of the eatery will include a number of large TV screens and video walls showing a combination of live sporting events and montages of classic sporting moments.
The venue is owned jointly by the Liverpool-based Flanagan Group and Carragher. Details: www.cafesportsengland.net
