Formosa International to buy Regent
Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIHC) is to buy the Regent hotel business from current owners the Carlson Companies and the Rezidor Hotel Group.
Regent currently operates properties in Taipei; Beijing; Singapore; Berlin; Zagreb; Bordeaux; and on the Turks & Caicos islands. FIHC is the original owner of the 538-room Grand Formosa Regent Taipei, which was opened 20 years ago by Regent founders Adrian Zecha and George Raphael. Further openings are planned for the Maldives; Phuket; Kuala Lumpur; Bangkok; Bali; Dubrovnik; Dubai; and Qatar.
