Forward Swindon names interim chief executive
Ian Piper has been appointed interim chief executive of regeneration agency Forward Swindon, following the resignation of Karen Walker.
Piper is to join the organisation on a six-month secondment from the South West of England Regional Development Agency, where he is the current director of development and regeneration. Swindon Borough Council deputy leader Garry Perkins said: "It is obviously disappointing to see Karen go but we accept and respect her decision.
"I am very pleased that Ian Piper, who has an excellent track record in this field and knows Swindon well, has agreed to take on the role until we can appoint someone on a permanent basis." Piper added: "I will be looking to bring a sharp focus to the work that needs to be done to build on Swindon's clear strengths and secure its future as a thriving regional hub."
