From Hollywood to health club
From pubs to health clubs, leisure operators can now give their customers added entertainment thanks to the new Public Screening Video License from Filmbank.
Licensing films to be shown outside of the home in leisure organisations like clubs or pubs has always been a grey area so Filmbank, a licensing organisation representing most of the major film studios and some independents, has come up with a new option.
The Public Video Screening Licence (PVS Licence) is a new licence designed to cover screenings in public where no promotion or charging takes place. This means that businesses can buy videos and DVDs from any retail outlet and be covered by a single licence to screen them as many times as they want, all year around, for a single fee.
In addition to the PVS Licence, which covers most kinds of screening requirements, Filmbank is also able to offer licensed content for organisations with bespoke entertainment systems such as those used in hotel chains and holiday camps.
The company's film library contains a wide range of new and old titles, from the latest blockbusters - usually available only three months from theatrical release - through to classic titles from the 1930s.
