Fund launched to help communities celebrate Glasgow 2014
A new £4m fund has been launched in Scotland for communities wishing to celebrate Glasgow 2014 through sport, the arts, heritage, and local celebrations or events.
Entitled Celebrate, the joint scheme between the Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland, Heritage Lottery Fund and SportScotland offers grants of up to £10,000 each.
Events that celebrate the Games or Scottish links to the 71 nations and territories that make up the Commonwealth will be eligible for funding.
Minister for Commonwealth Games and sport, Shona Robison, said: "Creating exciting opportunities for communities across Scotland is what Celebrate is all about.
"We want people to have fun, be excited and to create a legacy that will be around long after the Games have taken place."
Grants will be allocated up until December 2014.
