Funding boost for British Ski and Snowboarding
High performance sports agency UK Sport has confirmed British Ski and Snowboarding is to receive £348,350 to support athletes' preparations for the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.
UK Sport had been unable to invest in snowsports following the collapse of SnowsportGB ahead of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games until a new governing body had been formed.
The agency said it is now confident a performance programme to support the most talented winter sports athletes can commence in order to support medal aspirations at Sochi 2014.
UK Sport chief executive Liz Nicholl said: "The sport has made a credible business case for a performance programme that could deliver medallists at the Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014."
