Funding boost for Scottish badminton and table tennis
Scotland's national sports body, sportscotland, has earmarked more than £0.5m to develop the country's racquet sports.
Badminton Scotland has received a grant worth £416,785 while Table Tennis Scotland has been awarded £114,255.
A key focus for the investment in Badminton Scotland is to strengthen the grassroots and to improve the quality of coaching.
Meanwhile, Table Tennis Scotland will use the funding to put in place its development structures to ensure that Scotland is well-represented at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010 and on home soil in Glasgow in 2014.
The funding will also support two new positions within the organisation, national development manager and performance coach.
