Funding for Surrey arts and sports clubs
A number of arts, sports and play organisations in Surrey are set to benefit from a share of grant funding worth £81,000 unveiled by Guildford Borough Council (GBC).
Eligible sports clubs and individuals are set to be awarded funding as part of a £24,540 package to support activities across the borough, with 49 athletes in line to receive up to £500 each to support their development. More than £10,000 has been earmarked for play and youth groups; nearly £22,000 has been set aside for local arts organisation projects and more than £24,000 available to community projects.
GBC lead councillor for people and partnerships Jen Powell said: "The grants on offer, in some small way, will help people across the borough to take part in activities they enjoy. And for some also help them on their way to greater success."
