Further growth for The Restaurant Group
The Restaurant Group (TRG) is confident of "another year of good progress" in 2011, after the company reported a 7.5 per cent increase in total revenues for the 26 weeks to 3 July.
Like-for-like sales for the period grew by 3 per cent, while adjusted profit before tax was also up by 8 per cent on the same six-month spell last year to £24.4m. TRG unveiled seven new sites in the first half of 2011, with an further four restaurants having already launched in the second half. Up to 27 new sites are targeted for 2011.
Andrew Page, chief executive of the group, said: "After eight months we've opened 11 new restaurants; these are trading superbly and we're looking to add a further 11 to 16 new sites before the end of the year. "Despite the recent raft of downbeat newsflow, and the disturbances in early August, we've made a good start to the second half."
TRG operates restaurant brands such as Chiquito; Frankie and Benny's; and Garfunkel's.
