GLL introduce new Ramadan fitness initiative
By
Greenwich Leisure (GLL) is taking steps to encourage its Muslim members to continue exercising during the holy month of Ramadan.
The non-profit organisation, which manages gyms in areas with large Muslim populations, traditionally sees a drop in many of its Muslim members during Ramadan (26th October to 25th November), as they observe strict fasting from sunrise to sunset. But this year, GLL will devise less strenuous exercise programmes for members and offer nutritional advice on the importance of rehydration and the best way of breaking fasts.
“As a large number of our customers are practising Muslim, it only makes sense that we address such religious significance,” says managing director of GLL, Mark Sesnan.
