Gansevoort South launches
The Gansevoort Hotel Group has opened the Gansevoort South Hotel, Spa and Residences in South Beach, Miami, US.
Opened in early March, the 332-room Gansevoort South is located at the north end of Collins Avenue.
Signature features of the property include a 50ft (15.2m) aquarium tank in the lobby, with 27 types of fish and sharks, and a 26,000sq ft (2,415sq m) rooftop retreat, featuring coco palm trees, cabanas and a 110ft (33.5m) elevated swimming pool, as well as a plunge bar and a lounge.
The hotel also features a 45,000sq ft (4,180sq m) David Barton Gym and Spa. The flagship 10,000sq ft (929sq m) spa – which is fitness operator David Barton’s first ever – will include treatment rooms and yoga studios.
The original Hotel Gansevoort opened in New York City’s historic meatpacking district in 2004, featuring G-Spa, a spa-lounge concept.
The group’s next property, called Gansevoort Park, is also planned for New York on the site of the former Marathon Bank building.
