Following the sale of health club chain Fitness First to BC Partners for £835m by private equity company Cinven, David Giampaolo is to become a non-executive director of the company.
Giampaolo is chief executive officer of Global Leisure Partners (GLP), which is co-investing in the company with BC Partners.
"I am delighted to have worked with BC Partners and GLP on this significant transaction in the global fitness industry," said Giampaolo.
Fitness First has for a long time been regarded as a "best in class" operator and the most successful non-US operator in the world. This transaction offers a strong platform from which to capitalise on global growth opportunities."
