Giraffe seeks backing for expansion plans
Giraffe Restaurants is in talks with private equity group 3i to develop the brand into a national chain, according to The Times.
The newspaper reported that 3i has agreed to invest £10m in return for a minority stake, estimated at around a third of the company.
Giraffe, which currently has 12 outlets, was founded by Russel and Juliette Joffe in 1998 and is chaired by entrepreneur Luke Johnson.
The company reportedly plans to open between eight and 10 restaurants a year. Details: www.giraffe.net
